Winning Uganda Top 100 Pinnacle Award Leave a comment

The Uganda Top 100 midsized companies’ survey is a project managed by KPMG and Monitor Publications that aims at recognizing the fastest growing midsized companies in Uganda through putting in place the necessary systems and procedures of operation leading to their growth while ensuring return on shareholders’ investment as well as contributing the development process of the country at large.

The survey is conducted every year where all midsized companies in Uganda are encouraged to participate and at the end of the process, only the Top 100 best performing Companies are selected and awarded in order of their performance.

City Side first participated in the survey in the year 2016/17 where we emerged number 85. The beauty of this project is that at the end of survey, a conference is normally organized where they disseminate the findings highlighting what contributed to the best performing companies as well as the challenges that were encountered by the companies that didn’t make it to the list.

During the dissemination of the findings in the 2016/17 survey, I was able to identify a lot of gaps in the way we were running our company hence recognizing the reason as to why we were not able to compete on international standards.

The following year 2017/18, we chose not to participate in the survey but concentrate on bridging the gaps that we had identified. We then went back into the competition in the year 2018/19 and this time round we emerged No.2 out of the Top 100 fastest growing Midsized Companies in Uganda. We went ahead to perfect the gaps that were identified in the 2018/19 findings and eventually we were able to make it as the Pinnacle Award Winners of the Uganda Top 100 Midsized Companies Survey 2019/20.

This recognition has greatly contributed towards the growth of City Side as evidenced by the number of corporate clients and financial institutions that have picked interest in the Company and went ahead to work with us towards the achievement of our vision. “Thanks to KPMG, Monitor Publications, DFCU Bank, Uganda Investment Authority, ICEA and other partners” who have continuously made it possible to enable the growth of the SME sector in Uganda through the Uganda Top 100 Midsized Companies Survey Project.
